Christina Knobbe is an artist who has a body of art of 20 years in which she has explored different subjects of society such as feminism and togetherness in humans. To the viewer, Knobbe’s work can bring a sense of deep peace and silence, the feeling of finding oneself in a place of belonging while at the same time bringing confrontation and even provocation to the type of society we have become
Knobbe analyses and dives deep into circumstances, behaviour and emotion to explore how the human develops itself in society, to later transform these frequencies into her projects and creations. With influence from language studies and knowledge from holistic health matters, Christina creates an original and rich universe. Christina works with fire and steel engraving print, copper plates, etching needle, roulette and techniques with acid which she alters when using other materials such as disposable everyday objects in order to create texture, prints and color compositions. Through this, she states a new use to the disposable, a new life to what doesn’t seem to fit under today’s standards but yet she feels its necessary to conserve in our humanity. Christina has sold over 10,000 ink drawings on her Human Right series and 4,000 original etchings and monotypes, which are all over the world.
